College Communications Contest

The NDPC College Communications Contest returns in 2022 with entries due March 1, 2022. The annual college communications contest gives college communications students for their work in the areas of communications, journalism, photography, marketing and related fields. It is NDPC’s way of encouraging promising student communicators. 

Eligibility
Any student enrolled in at least a two-year college or university in North Dakota, or at Minnesota State University Moorhead or Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., is eligible to enter the contest. 

Entry Requirements and Categories 

  • All entries must have been published or produced between March 1, 2021, and Feb. 28, 2022, to be eligible for entry in the 2022 contest. 
  • Eligible material is not limited to work produced for college or university organizations.
  • An individual may submit only one entry in each category. No entry may be submitted in more than  one category. 
  • Please read the contest categories carefully. Entries not in the correct category or properly labeled will be disqualified. 

Submitting Entries
Read the requirements for each category carefully. Some require supporting material. If submitting  electronically (preferred), please ensure file names reflect entry and entrant. If submitting hard copies, securely fasten a completed entry form and any necessary supporting documents to each entry. Mail all entries in one large envelope. 

Video entries must include one entry form for each submission, with online link. Please ensure you copy the  link correctly after uploading your entry.  

Entry Fee
  • The first entry is $10 and additional entries are $5 each. Contestants who collaborate on material may enter together for a single entry fee. 
  • Online payment is available at https://secure.affinipay.com/pages/ndpc/payments. Checks are also accepted, made payable to NDPC and mailed to the address below.
  • Please submit receipt of payment with your entry.

Entry Deadline and Submission  
  • All entries must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. March 1, 2022.  
  • Entries should be submitted electronically to ndpccollegecontest@gmail.com, along with the completed entry form.
  • If electronic entry is not possible, entries can be mailed in hard copy to:

    Entries must be postmarked by the deadline.

Awards 
Contest winners will be recognized in the spring of 2022. Winners will be notified by email. First, second  and third place awards, and up to two honorable mentions, may be presented in each category. Judges are directed to make awards only if merited. All decisions of the judges are final.

Students can win money through the sweepstakes prize. Points will be assigned for entries that place, and the two students who earn the most points will receive prizes in the amount of $100 and $50, respectively.
