NDPC 2018 Communications Contest Winners

North Dakota Professional Communicators announced the winners of the 2018 NDPC Communications Contest at the NDPC Spring Conference, held April 26-27 in Fargo. Twenty-two NDPC members earned 120 awards for their work in print media, photography, advertising, writing for and development of the web, promotion, public relations, marketing, speeches and books.

First-place entries in all categories have advanced to the national competition, the National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest. Winners in that competition will be announced at the NFPW Communications Conference Sept. 6-8, 2018, in Bethlehem, Pa.

Pamela Knudson, Grand Forks, was the overall NDPC sweepstakes winner, and Roxane Salonen, Fargo, was runner-up. Sweepstakes winners are determined by a weighted point system based on place (first, second, third or honorable mention) and the number of entries in each category. The more entries in a category, the higher number of points awarded to those placing in the category. Karen Stensrud, Fargo, was recognized as NDPC’s Communicator of Achievement.

NDPC is the state affiliate of NFPW, an organization of communication professionals from across the United States. NDPC is an organization of women and men employed in all aspects of communication: newspapers, public relations, education, magazines, television, radio, publishing, advertising, photography and freelance.
