2012 NDPC Conference
NDPC is thrilled to announce its 2012 spring conference will feature Ann Wylie, who spoke at the 2002 National Federation of Press Women’s conference in Bismarck. The 2012 NDPC conference will be the Thursday, April 26, and Friday, April 27, 2012, at the Kelly Inn in Bismarck. Read more.

2012 NDPC Communication Contest
Full members of NDPC are eligible to enter the 2012 NDPC communications contest. The deadline for entries was Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. Read more.

2011 NDPC Fall Workshop
“The Best NDPC Fall Workshop by a Dam Site!” was NDPC’s 2011 fall w
orkshop held at the Riverdale High Lodge. Dates were Oct. 6-7. Included were tours of the Garrison Dam Power Plant and National Fish Hatchery, plus the opportunity to learn from keynote speakers, Marilyn Hudson and Dave Borlaug. Read more.

The 2011 NFPW Conference was Sept. 8-10 in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska. Read more.

Julie Ellingson has been named NDPC’s 2011 Communicator of Achievement.

2011 NDPC Scholarship
Each year North Dakota Professional Communicators awards the $500 Marion J. Piper Scholarship (formerly the Marion Piper Sullivan Memorial Scholarship) to a local college student. The application deadline was April 30, 2011. Read more.

2011 College Communications Contest
Winners of the 2011 NDPC College Communications Contest were recognized at the NDPC state conference April 8 in Grand Forks. More than 90 college students and teams from eight North Dakota and Minnesota schools participated in the annual competition. Read more.


2011 NDPC Conference

“Communicate to one, to many, to all” was the theme for the NDPC Spring Conference scheduled April 7-8 in Grand Forks. The NDPC communications awards banquet was April 7. The conference was April 8, and the college communications contest award winners were recognized at the luncheon. Read more.

2010 Communicator of Achievement
Karen Stensrud has been named NDPC’s 2010 Communicator of Achievement and NFPW’s 2010 Communicator of Achievement.

2010 College Communications Contest
Winners of the 2010 NDPC College Communications Contest were recognized at the NDPC state conference April 24 in Fargo. More than 60 college students and teams from six North Dakota and Minnesota schools participated in the annual competition. Read more.

2009 NFPW Communication Contest
Twenty-three members of NDPC won awards in the 2009 National Federation of Press Women’s communications contest, and Martin Fredricks was honored as the national Sweepstakes winner. Winners were announced at the NFPW annual conference in San Antonio, Texas in September. Read more.

2007 NFPW Communication Contest
Fourteen members of NDPC won 23 writing awards in the 2007 National Federation of Press Women’s communications contest. Winners were announced at an awards dinner Sept. 22, 2007, in Richmond, Va. Read more.

“Shaping Up for Fall,” NDPC’s fall workshop, was Oct. 19-21 at Assumption Abbey in Richardton, N.D.

2006 NFPW Communication Contest
NDPC earned the third-place sweepstakes award in the 2006 National Federation of Press Women communication contest. Martin Fredricks, West Fargo, earned second place in the individual sweepstakes category. Awards were presented Sept. 9, 2006, at the NFPW Communications Conference in Denver. Read more.

Highlights of 2002 NFPW Conference
North Dakota Professional Communicators hosted NFPW’s national conference in Bismarck, Sept. 19-21. The 2002 conference’s theme was “Discovering New Frontiers: An Expedition to Excellence.” About 150 communicators from across the country learned from the professional development speakers, honored members, networked with each other, and enjoyed North Dakota history and hospitality.
