Communications Contest
  • Media professional from North Dakota and Minnesota were honored at the 2010 NDPC awards banquet April 24 in Fargo, N.D. Read more.
  • Twenty-three members of NDPC won awards in the 2009 National Federation of Press Women’s communications contest, and Martin Fredricks was honored as the national Sweepstakes winner. Winners were announced at the NFPW annual conference in San Antonio, Texas in September. Read more.
  • Media professional from across North Dakota and Minnesota were honored at the 2009 NDPC awards banquet May 2, in Minot, N.D. Read more.
  • Nineteen members of NDPC won awards in the 2008 National Federation of Press Women’s communications contest. Winners were announced at the NFPW annual conference in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Sept. 11-13. Read more.
  • Winners in the 2007 NFPW communications contest were announced at the NFPW conference Sept. 22, 2007, in Richmond, Va. Read more.
  • NDPC earned the third-place sweepstakes award in the 2006 National Federation of Press Women communication contest. Martin Fredricks, West Fargo, earned second place in the individual sweepstakes category. Awards were presented Sept. 9, 2006, at the NFPW Communications Conference in Denver. Read more.
  • NDPC earned the third-place sweepstakes award in the 2005 National Federation of Press Women communication contest. Thirteen media professionals from North Dakota and Minnesota were named national winners in the annual contest. Awards were presented Saturday, Sept. 10, at the NFPW Communications Conference in Seattle. Read more.
  • NDPC earned the second-place sweepstakes award in the 2004 National Federation of Press Women communication contest. NDPC’s Tammy Swift claimed second place in the individual sweepstakes. Awards were presented Saturday, Sept. 11 at the NFPW Communications Conference in Lexington, Ky. Read more.

Communicator of Achievement

  • Karen Stensrud has been named NDPC’s 2010 Communicator of Achievement. Read more.
  • Denise Pinkney has been named NDPC’s 2009 Communicator of Achievement. Read more.
  • Merrie Sue Holtan has been named NDPC’s 2008 Communicator of Achievement. Read more.
  • Jill Schramm was honored as NDPC’s 2007 Communicator of Achievement. Read more.

College Communications Contest

  • Winners of the 2010 NDPC College Communications Contest were recognized at the NDPC state conference April 24 in Fargo. More than 60 college students and teams from six North Dakota and Minnesota schools participated in the annual competition. Read more.
  • Winners for the 2009 college communications contest were announced at the awards luncheon on May 2. Read more.

Marion J. Piper Memorial Scholarship

  • Each year North Dakota Professional Communicators awards the $500 Marion J. Piper Scholarship (formerly the Marion Piper Sullivan Memorial Scholarship) to a local college student. The application deadline was March 31, 2010.

  • Congratulations to the recipient of the 2009 scholarship — Hayley Vendsel, a student at University of North Dakota.
