Communications Contest Rules
Students enrolled
in two-year or four-year colleges or universities in North Dakota
or at Minnesota State University Moorhead or Concordia College, Moorhead,
Minn., are eligible to enter the NDPC college communications contest.
The deadline for the contest is March 12, 2012. Entry fees are
$5 per individual and $1.50 per entry. Entries should be mailed
to NDPC College Communications Contest, c/o Lisa Dahlen,

Eligibility
Any student
enrolled in at least a two-year college or university in North
Dakota, or at Minnesota State University Moorhead or Concordia
College, Moorhead, Minn., is eligible to enter the contest.
Awards
Contest winners will be recognized during the 2012 NCPC state conference on April 27 in Bismarck. Winners will be notified by e-
mail in April. First, second and third place awards, and up to two honorable mentions, may be presented in each
category. Judges are directed to make awards only if merited. All judges’ decisions are final.
Entry
Requirements
All entries must have been published or produced between March
2, 2011, and March 1, 2012. Eligible material is not limited
to work produced for college or university organizations.
An individual may
submit only one entry in each category. No entry may be submitted
in more than one category. Please read contest
classifications carefully. Entries not in the correct category
or properly labeled will be disqualified.
Submitting Entries
Read the requirements for each category carefully. Some require supporting material.
Reproduce as many entry forms as needed. Securely fasten a completed form and any necessary supporting
documents to each entry (do not staple). Tear sheets should be clearly marked to indicate item to be judged.
Mail all entries in one large envelope.
Video entries must include one 8 1/2- inch by 11-inch entry form with each DVD. DVDs also must be clearly marked on the outside with category, entrant’s name, adviser’s name and
affiliated college.
Contest
Entry Fee
There is a $5 entry fee for each individual (not school) to enter
the contest, plus $1.50 for each entry. For example, one entry
will cost $6.50, two entries $8 and three entries $9.50. Contestants
who collaborate on material may enter together for a single entry
fee. Winners will receive duplicate award certificates.
Although advisers/organizations are not required to send one check for their group of entries, doing so is extremely helpful. Please include a list of all entrants and payments made on their behalf.
Make checks payable to NDPC (do not send cash).
If you send a money order, make sure you print your name and address in the spaces provided and sign it.
